The Far East
In the middle of XVII cent. Poyarkov and Khabarov began to mastering of the Far East. In 1859 year general – governor N.N. Muravjev – Amursky, getting round Peter's I bay on the ship, took his attention to well – covered bay. It reminded of the bay «Golden Horn» in Constantinople, and general – governor suggested that it should have the same name, on its coasts he order to build a military post, which was named Vladivistok. 20th of June 1860 year military transport «Manchurian» under lef – commader A. K. Schefner command was created new military post, which got officially the name Vladivostok. At present time Vladivostok is a city and port on the Far East, administrative center of Primorye Territory of Russia Federation. Before in 1858 year was created as military post city Khabarovsk. Now it is an administrative canter, capital of the Far East federal district of Russia. The Far East is the most distant city from Moscow to the east region of Russia. Vladivostok and Khabarovsk are the biggest cities in the Far East.

Khabarovsk sights
Khabarovsk is one of the biggest cities of Russian Far East, an administrative center, cultural and industrial center of Khabarovsk region. And geographically it is occupied the central location on the Far East. The city was placed on the right bank of the river Amur, in the Middle Amur lowland, at the distance of 30 km from China border. According to Russian version, the city was created as military post in 1858 year and named in the name of Russian explorer of XVII century Erophey Khabarov. Khabarovsk was grunted refugee status of administrative center of the Far East federal district. It was nonrandom choice. At first, Khabarovsk is the second city in the number of the region, and takes four place in occupied territory, secondly, here are placed most quantity of federal and regional offices, thirdly, this city is the cultural center of the region. hits: 551

Vladivostok
Vladivostok is a young city, was founded in1860 and is a terminal point of Trans-Siberian railway. Almost 150 years old is not an age for the city! But this time was quite enough for bloom of it and turning it into one of the most interesting and prospective cities of Russia. Nowadays it is a typical European city, which is situated at the border of the Asia-Pacific region with the population about 1 million people. The city occupies the whole southern part of the peninsula Muravjev-Amursky and is washed by waters of Amursky and Ussuriysky gulf. Within the precincts of the city there are 20 islands.
